Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia
As local experts, we’ve designed our tour to include the region’s most iconic and enjoyable experiences.
No trip is complete without visiting a tea plantation. The BOH Tea Plantation is the largest and most famous. You can walk through the rows of tea bushes, take stunning photos of the green, rolling hills, and visit the factory to see how tea is processed. Expert Tip: Visit the BOH Tea Centre’s cafe, which has a stunning “overhanging” deck. Grab a cup of fresh tea and a scone while enjoying the best view in the highlands. It gets very busy, so we recommend going on a weekday if possible.

The cool weather here is perfect for growing things you can’t find elsewhere in Malaysia. You’ll stop at a Strawberry Farm where you can often pick your own fresh strawberries (a fun activity for kids!). These farms also sell delicious strawberry ice cream, milkshakes, and jams. Nearby, you’ll find colorful Lavender Gardens, which are perfect for photos. You can walk through fields of purple flowers and even try lavender-flavored ice cream.

The cool evenings are perfect for “steamboat” (or hot pot), a local favorite. You get a pot of simmering broth at your table and a huge platter of fresh vegetables, meats, and seafood to cook yourself. It’s a fun, social, and delicious meal. For a classic British-Malaysian experience, you must have afternoon tea with scones, clotted cream, and fresh strawberry jam. Many of the hotels and tea houses offer this classic treat.
